American defender Hunter Freeman is on the verge of a return to action with Norwegian club IK Sart after resuming training following an ankle injury.
The 25-year old has been sidelined since November after a strong challenge whilst playing against Aalesund but is close to a return.
"The ankle is coming along good," Freeman told Soccer365. "The doctors, trainers and myself are all quite happy with the progress so far.
"I started running on the treadmill this past week, and all has gone well. I will continue to run this upcoming week around the field and hopefully towards the end of the week do a few things with the ball."
Freeman's plan is to be fully fit in time for the start of the new season, which kicks off on March 15.
"We leave for training camp in La Manga, Spain on February 3rd," added Freeman. "The plan is to start getting back into training (on the side) once we arrive, with the hope that I get back into full training the last week we are there and hopefully getting some minutes in one or two friendly matches.
"Of course, all of this depends on how my ankle reacts to everything. So far so good, but we will take it one week at a time."
