Ighalo urges Watford to sign Chelsea midfielder Mikel

Odion Ighalo has implored Watford to go after Mikel John Obi.

The Nigerian midfielder continues to be linked with a Chelsea departure this winter having failed to force his way into Antonio Conte's plans.

Hornets striker Ighalo knows Mikel very well from their time together in the Super Eagles setup and insists he would be delighted to play alongside the 29-year-old at Vicarage Road.

"I would like it if Mikel joined me at Watford," said Ighalo.

"He is my captain at the national team. Apart from that he is a very good player, very talented.

"There is no team in the Premier League that will not want to have such a player.

"I am happy I have played with him so I will be very happy to have him in my team."
