IFK Gothenburg have ruled out moving for Aston Villa striker Nicklas Helenius.

The Dane is expected to have his contract terminated by Villa this week after failing to establish himself at Villa Park.

It's been suggested Helenius, who has been on-loan with Odense, could sign for IFK.

But the Swedish club's sporting director Mats Gren told fotbollskanalen.se: "We have gone through this and studied it and he's not really the type that we want and that is to replace (Lasse) Vibe.

"He does not have the speed of Vibe."
