Sunderland manager David Moyes is desperately clutching at straws at the moment.
The former Everton and Manchester United manager has lamented his side's inability to finish the games and suggested that they would have had nine points by now if all the games had finished on 85 minutes.
However, the Black Cats sit at the bottom of the table with just two points from nine games.
"I heard someone say if it was 85 minutes we would have nine points by now," Moyes said.
"I wish we were if that was the case, but I think it is more to do with us not having the ball enough and, by the end of the game, it wears you down.
"Your fitness levels can go and your concentration can go and I would say that is probably what it is down to, more than anything else.
"We did OK. We went to West Ham and gave them a game, after the first 20 minutes. We have now got a game against Southampton, which we are going to look forward to.
"We have not won the two games we have been away from home recently but I think we have shown slight signs of getting better.
"We have to try and keep that up, and keep this little bit of positivity up. But obviously, we don't want to keep getting beat, that is for sure."
