Ibrahimovic was not tempted by Man City's money

AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic insists he was never tempted by the lucrative offers made by Manchester City last summer.

The 29-year old Swede was keen to leave Barcelona after his first season there as his relationship with manager Pep Guardiola deteriorated and was heavily courted by City during the summer transfer window 2010.

But he has revealed that he wanted to join a club, such as AC Milan, which was ready to win titles straight away and said that money was never an issue, hence his decision to turn down the Eastlands club.

"I had a couple of talks with City and they had a fantastic project going on but I'm not one of those players who wants to go there and play for money," Ibrahimovic said.

"For me, it's important to see what kind of future there is, what kind of possibilities there is. For me, the project of City is not now.

"I think in a couple of years they will be a top team but Milan now is at the top and for me, I want to be playing at the top when I'm 29 rather than 32.

"It was not about money. If you are a great player there is money everywhere."

Ibrahimoivc has enjoyed a brilliant start to his career with AC, scoring 13 goals in 23 league matches, as the Rossoneri sit three points clear at the top of the Serie A table.
