Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney has heaped praise on summer signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The Swedish superstar opened his account just over three minutes into his first outing with the Red Devils in the weekend's 5-2 win over Galatasaray in the International Champions Cup and only wants to get better and better according to his new strike partner.

“He's one of the best strikers, and a big personality," Rooney said in an interview with the Daily Mail.

“You can see he wants to be a really important player for us.

“After training he is already talking about how we can get the best out of each other, you can see he's got this great work ethic."
