The Red Devils defeated little-known Ukrainian side Zorya Luhansk 1-0 in Group A of Europe's second tier club competition at Old Trafford to atone for their opening game loss to Feyenoord.
Ibrahimovic came up with the winner in the 69th minute when heading home Wayne Rooney's scuffed shot and the Swedish superstar is of the belief that such a hard-fought victory holds the players in good stead having impressed on the weekend when beating Leicester City 4-1.
"It was not an easy game, we played well, created chances," the Swede told BT Sport.
"If you don't score in the beginning then the spaces get smaller. After the goal there was more space. It was a decent game and we won. It was good to take the three points.
"If you want to go through you need to win the game. We won but we could do much more. We are working hard. Against Leicester we did a good game, today we did a good game and it is good for confidence."
Ibra added: "We won and that's what counts after the loss in Rotterdam. It was good to take the three points today."
