Ibrahimovic's October return could result in new Man Utd contract

Zlatan Ibrahimovic could return from injury as early as October.

The Swede is reportedly ahead of schedule in his recovery from a serious knee injury.

The 35-year old sustained the injury back in April during Manchester United's Europa League quarter final clash with Anderlecht.

Ibrahimovic has been undergoing his rehabilitation at United's Carrington training facility, and the report suggests that the club's medical staff are amazed at his progress.

So much so, that the Sun reports Jose Mourinho is prepared to offer the talismanic forward a new deal until the end of the season.

Ibrahimovic is out of contract following the expiration of his United deal at the start of the month.
