Inter Milan failed against Liverpool due to bad luck, insists striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The big Swede again failed to deliver on a big night for the club, but insisted at the final whistle: "We were unlucky tonight - and at Anfield - then we had to play both games with a man down. More importantly we did our best and could not do any more, so the best team won.

"We created some scoring opportunities but didn't have that bit of luck. Now we are out and must remain concentrated for the Coppa Italia and Scudetto.

"We did our best and were eliminated. We are a great squad. If you look at this club and all the players at our disposal, then obviously we are a great squad. We were just a little bit unlucky."
