Blackpool boss Ian Holloway admitted the 11th minute sending off of West Brom defender Pablo Ibanez in Monday's clash at Bloomfield Road ruined the contest.
Ibanez was sent from the pitch for a challenge on DJ Campbell and the Seasiders were also the recipients of a penalty but Holloway said that the spectacle was killed off when referee Michael Oliver made the decision.
"I think the game as a spectacle, with the rules the referee has got to apply...I'd prefer a yellow card (to Ibanez) and the penalty," he said.
"It's a great move, probably the best of the game, a great ball from Charlie to DJ Campbell, who has turned him. But is it really a sending off?
"I thought that ruined the game as a spectacle."
