Stoke City's new signing Jakob Haugaard is hoping to emulate Danish compatriot Thomas Sorensen.
The Potters completed the signing of the highly-rated Haugaard recently and the 23-year old will be replacing veteran Thomas Sorensen, who hung up his gloves at the end of the season following an illustrious career.
Unsurprisingly, Sorensen will be used as the yardstick to which Haugaard has to measure up to and the young goalkeeper has stated that he would be delighted to achieve half of what the former gloveman managed throughout his career.
Haugaard told the Stoke Sentinel: "Thomas has had a fantastic career, at both domestic and international level, and of course if I could make the same impact in the game as he has then I would be absolutely delighted.
"I know he is fondly remembered by the Stoke City supporters and hopefully I can enjoy similar success to him. I haven't actually spoken to him yet, but I will try to do that in the near future if at all possible. It would be good to get a bit of advice from somebody like Thomas."
