Daniele Verde was thrilled to make his AS Roma debut in their draw with Palermo.

The striker, 18, came off the bench in the second-half.

"Of course playing in such a difficult game was very emotional. I thank the Coach for his faith in me and will try to repay him," Verde told Roma TV.

"I thought he had motioned towards Maicon, but when he pointed to me and nodded his head to confirm yes. At that moment my legs were shaking - everything was shaking! - but I steeled myself and went on.

"Once on the pitch, I couldn't hold back. I tried to show what I can do, hoping to do what comes naturally with the utmost determination."
