'I want to be the best manager' - ex-Chelsea striker Hasselbaink

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has plans to be a top manager after landing his second head coaching job.

The 42-year old was appointed as boss of League Two club Burton Albion on Thursday and was full of positivity after taking over at the Pirelli Stadium.

Former Chelsea striker Hasselbaink beat a number of highly-qualified applicants to the Brewers role and after one season in charge of Belgian club Royal Antwerp, is intent of achieving success in England.

"I want to be the best manager, and I want to be as good as others, but let's start here at Burton, get the positive vibe going that Gary (Rowett) and Nigel (Clough) started," Hasselbaink said on Sky Sports News HQ.

"Let's get promoted. Let's achieve. Everything else, can wait until later."

Hasselbaink added: "I'm very, very excited. My career as a footballer has gone. It's history. I'm a coach, a manager now."
