I spoke with Man City new boy Sane about the best league in the world - Arsenal star Ozil

Arsenal star Mesut Ozil has stated that he sold the Premier League to Manchester City new signing Leroy Sane.

Sane was one of the most sought after young players in Europe this summer and it was eventually City who were able to win the race to secure the services of the Germany international for a fee believed to be in the region of around £37million.

Gunners ace Ozil has gone on to state his belief that Sane can flourish under Pep Guardiola this season and added that he had a role to play in convincing the 20-year-old to join the Premier League.

Ozil told Spox: "Naturally, the Premier League was a topic we discussed several times.

"I told Leroy that I regard it as the best league in the world and that young players can develop well there.

"That is why I was happy for him when the transfer materialised. He will improve a lot under Pep Guardiola."
