"Because he has only been here for a very short time he hasn't yet had the number of sessions you need to get used to the tactical side of things and it could take a little while before he is on the same wavelength as the rest of us.
"But hopefully that will happen soon and he will go on to play lots more games."
The Finn added: "Martin has all the qualities to fight for his place here and from then on we will see what happens.
"I can't say that I hope he will play soon because that might mean that I will play less games, especially when Daniel (Agger) is fit.
"But I'm still there and I know that like everyone else in the squad I have to perform well to stay there."
