Veteran Bundesliga coach Huub Stevens rates the German competition ahead of the Premier League in terms of quality.
Stevens was unimpressed by the football played by Chelsea and Manchester United during Sunday's 1-1 draw.
He says the DFB deserve credit for the youth development strategy they introduced at the turn of the century.
"That's why the Bundesliga is the best in the world, truly the number one," Stevens declared.
"When I go to see Manchester United-Chelsea and Gladbach against Bayern Munich, the result was the same, but the only agreement we have is that the quality of football is higher in Germany."
