Robert Huth says Stoke City captain Ryan Shawcross should be in the England squad.
Shawcross was overlooked for the England squad who lost to France last week when defenders who are not playing as much first-team football - Manchester United youngster Chris Smalling and Manchester City's Joleon Lescott - were picked ahead of him.
"I think everyone was a bit surprised," Huth told the Daily Express.
"There were a few random choices. It is none of my business, but I think Ryan is a class act and a class player.
"Given time and the chances, he will probably play for England."
