Huth backs Stoke to finish top half

Robert Huth believes Stoke City are good enough to finish in the top half of the Premier League table this season.

The German centre-half was at the heart of the Potters' defence which kept Chelsea goalless yesterday and the performance of the players has given Huth enough to suggest that the club is headed in the right direction, especially with European football potentially around the corner.

"To get safe is the main priority but, depending on if we qualify for Europe, we'd like to go as far as we can," said the defender.

"It would be outstanding to get into the group stages of the Europa League.

"It is not something anyone else at the club has done and hopefully if we do qualify it won't affect us in the league.

"Hopefully, we can get a top-10 finish if we can continue the sort of form we have been showing recently."
