Former Newcastle United midfielder Don Hutchison has branded USA striker Jozy Altidore a Sunderland DISASTER.

Hutchison wrote in his column for the Evening Chronicle: "I wouldn't want to be the man to tell him, but I think Jozy Altidore's time at Sunderland has been a bit of disaster.

"Altidore is a big guy - an imposingly physical striker - and he should be hassling and bullying defenders. None of them should get an easy ride when they're up against Altidore but it hasn't turned out for him like that at the Stadium of Light.

"Unfortunately I just don't think he's good enough for the Premier League, which is a bit of a problem for Sunderland."
