Stephen Hunt insists Wolves have the stomach for a relegation battle.
A win on the road against Queens Park Rangers last Saturday hauled Wolves out of the bottom three and Hunt said McCarthy's men are confident they can stay clear of trouble.
"With three games to go last season, Birmingham were six points clear of us and who would have predicted what happened?
"So we know how to fight to stay in this league.
"And if there's a goal needed to keep us up, I'm confident I'm the man to do that.""With the points tally the way it is, it would be great for us to beat West Brom and keep moving up the table," Hunt told the Sunday Mirror.
