Stephen Hunt has signed a new contract with Reading.

Hunt was a £5million transfer target for Sunderland.

But the Royals moved swiftly to tie him up on a three-and-a-half year deal worth £25,000-a-week - putting him alongside Kevin Doyle as the top earner.

Hunt has vowed to start repaying boss Steve Coppell's faith against Bolton today.

He said: "I'm looking forward to working my butt off for Reading.

"I'm flattered that Roy Keane was interested but I'm committed to Reading."
