Hull City favourite Dean Windass is in line for a player-coaching job at Grimsby.
The Mirror says the Hull striker has been targeted by the League Two club and is wanted to replace Alan Buckley following his sacking last week.
Windass is understood to be keen on talking to the Mariners after being frozen out at Hull this season. He is still to start a Premier League game and was left out of Phil Brown's squad for Sunday's home draw with Everton.
