Hull City veteran Dean Windass has ruled himself out of the job at Grimsby.

In his column for the Daily Mail, Windass wrote: "This week, to my surprise, I've been linked with a player manager's role at Grimsby and although it is flattering to be linked with a managerial job, I'm not interested - yet.

"I am still a Premier League footballer with Hull and I know my chance will come.

"I've done UEFA's A and B coaching badges and have just the pro-licence to go, putting in countless hours in the classroom and on the training ground."
