Geovanni admits he was out of order over his blow-up with Hull City boss Phil Brown last week.
He said: "I left Manchester City in disgrace last season but Phil still had faith in me.
"He came to Brazil to find me and he said to me 'I want you at Hull, I believe in you'. I felt great warmth coming from him and he gave me another chance, which I still want to embrace.
"I would like to thank the manager for his trust for the rest of my career. At Manchester City, I started six matches and scored three goals but I didn't have any more real chances in the team.
"I still don't know why Sven Goran Eriksson didn't trust me. If he had trusted me, like Phil does now, maybe I'd have performed better."
