Hull City midfielder Nick Barmby says Mark Hughes is the right man in charge at Manchester City.

"The media spotlight is on them now because of being the so-called richest club in the world and there's always going to be that massive media frenzy," said Barmby.

"But the main thing is that they have a very, very good manager. I was lucky enough to play with Mark. He was a great player and someone you want in your dressing room.

"He's bringing that as a manager now. He had limited funds at Blackburn, did a brilliant job and now he's at a big club like Manchester City.

"He's got the funds and I'm sure he'll buy big in January and buy big in the summer. He will get it right. I just hope it happens after tomorrow's game."
