Hull vote to change name unlikely to sway FA

Hull City season-ticket holders may have voted narrowly in favour of changing the club's name to Hull Tigers but that ballot will have no bearing on the Football Association council's decision when it convenes on Wednesday to consider the proposed rebrand, reports The Guardian.

Hull City season-ticket holders may have voted narrowly in favour of changing the club's name to Hull Tigers but that ballot will have no bearing on the Football Association council's decision when it convenes on Wednesday to consider the proposed rebrand, reports The Guardian.

The results of the poll came too late to be included in Hull's submission to the FA.

In any case it is all rather academic as the FA's membership committee have already issued a "unanimous recommendation" that the proposal should be rejected. It would represent a major surprise were that advice to be overturned and the Allams are certainly not expecting success at this stage.
