Hull City midfielder Nick Barmby's current deal expires at the end of the season but is hoping to be offered a new contract at the KC Stadium. "Without a doubt I want to stay - you still want to be involved," said the 34 year old.

"I still feel fine, I've just got to keep fit. At the end of the day you get paid to play and be fit and around the place.

"I have got no problem with that, but I love it here and I want to play as long as I can here."

He said: "It is up to the manager, it is a squad game and I have no problem with whatever his decision is.

"I'll just keep my head down and keep working hard in training, the same attitude as I have always had."
