Hull City legend Ian Ashbee is coming out of retirement.

The Hull Daily Mail says new Hull United manager Curtis Woodhouse has moved quickly to make his first signing after agreeing a deal with Hull City legend Ashbee.

Ashbee will forever be remembered as the captain who took the Tigers from the basement division and into the Premier League for the first time in their history.

"I spoke to Ash a few months back and he said he was missing the dressing room banter, so as soon as I got the job I rang him to see if he would be interested in signing," explained Woodhouse.

"Thankfully, he was eager to get involved and he can't wait to get stuck in.

"He probably won't play every week, but his presence and experience will give our players a lift."
