Hull trying to get Bullard off their books

Hull City are looking to terminate the contract of midfielder Jimmy Bullard following an incident during pre-season.

The 32-year old has not featured for the Tigers yet this season after returning from a loan at Ipswich Town last term and has been placed on suspension for an incident on a pre-season trip to Slovenia this summer.

Bullard is under contract at KC Stadium until the end of the 2012/13 season but the club is keen to end their relationship with the former Wigan Athletic and Fulham man.

"The club has given notice to terminate the contract of Jimmy Bullard," read a club statement.

"Mr Bullard has a right of appeal and it would be inappropriate to make any further comment at this time that might prejudice this process.

"The club will continue to focus on the development and performance of the squad going forward and is concentrated on efforts to deliver a positive season on and off the pitch for the Tigers."
