Hull City failed to sign permanently on-loan Manchester United midfielder Corry Evans on Monday.
The Hull Daily Mail says Cameron Stewart's £300,000 move from Manchester United proved to be the only business into the KC Stadium as the Tigers were content to take a back-seat role during a frenetic deadline day across English football.
City had been keen to turn fellow United graduate Evans' loan deal into a permanent transfer but that speculative attempt fell on deaf ears at Old Trafford.
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson feels Evans could have a future at Old Trafford.
