Hull City are eyeing Palermo's Abel Hernandez as a replacement for Shane Long.
The Tigers lost the Republic of Ireland striker to Southampton this summer and are now hoping to bring in Uruguayan forward Hernandez for around £10million.
Hull boss Steve Bruce said: "Abel Hernandez has been mentioned. We're close to one or two things and very close with one striker which will be a fantastic addition if we can pull it off."
24-year old Hernandez has been with Palermo since 2009 and has scored 36 goals in 122 appearances for the Italian club.
