Hull City striker Dean Windass feels for ex-Middlesbrough teammate Paul Ince over his sacking at Blackburn Rovers last week.
In his column for the Daily Mail, Windass wrote: "His reputation is damaged and he knows people now think of him as a failure, even though 21 games is hardly enough time to prove himself. He got there the hard way, earning his apprenticeship at Macclesfield and MK Dons, where he had great success.
"But he didn't have to stake his reputation at that level, especially at a small club like Macclesfield, who were heading out of the Football League when he took over. But he did because he loves the game.
"And he deserved a chance at the highest level.
"Even watching his exit this week, nothing deters me from wanting a crack at management myself one day and I am sure, once the wounds have healed, Incey will take another job."
