Hull City captain Curtis Davies was delighted with how Abel Hernandez performed on debut for the club.
The 24-year old Uruguayan striker, who joined the Tigers from Palermo for a club record £10million on deadline day, scored with a fine header in his new club's 2-2 draw with West Ham United on Monday night.
Hernandez, who was denied a second goal by the woodwork, only arrived in England recently and his first outing for the Humberside club was praised by skipper Davies.
"It's early days, you usually say they need to get up to the pace but from the finishing point of view it doesn't look like a problem," Davies told Sky Sports.
"He maybe needs to get up to the physical side of it but he had another good effort in the second half, Adrian's made a good save.
"I hope he can carry on like that and get us double figures."
Hull boss Steve Bruce was also happy for Hernandez who only linked up with the Tigers on the weekend following international duties with Uruguay.
"He's been away two weeks (with Uruguay), then he's been stuck in Rome for four days waiting for his passport," Bruce added.
"But he was full of life in training yesterday so that made my mind up to throw him in."
