Hull City captain Nicky Barmby has no doubt the fans are with manager Phil Brown.

The Tigers defeated Wigan Athletic 2-1 yesterday and Barmby said: "Every manager in the country knows that if results don't go right then the pressure falls on them. Football is a results business.

"But I think it's only a sprinkling of fans who have turned on the manager.

"If you were at Anfield last week they were singing the gaffer's name and the fans stuck with us from the first minute to the last.

"You are going to get rumblings when you get a run of results like this, that's the way football is, the manager appreciates that.

"We know that the fans will stick with us. They'll be great again this weekend I'm sure, but it's down to the players more than anything now.

"Home and away, the fans have been doing their bit every week, now it's down to us to do our bit."
