Hull City signing Oumar Niasse admits he had little to do with Everton boss Ronaldo Koeman.

Koeman told Niasse he was surplus to requirements after watching him for just 45 minutes in a pre-season friendly last summer, but the stunned striker did not even find out why.

"I didn't ask," he said. "He just told me what he had to tell me and I said 'thank you'.

"It's just a choice and he made his choice. I didn't have anything to say. When someone tells you you're not in his plans you just have to deal with it.

"I can't be angry about Everton. He made his choice. I just have to prove what he thought about me wasn't the real Oumar."
