Hull signing Olofinjana pleased to stay in PL

New Hull City signing Seyi Olofinjana has revealed he moved from Stoke to continue playing in the Premier League. The Nigeria international snubbed high-profile French side Monaco to join the Tigers.

"Nothing beats the Premier League," the 29 year old told Hull's official website.

"A lot of players in France want to come to the Premier League, so why would I want to leave it. This is a great opportunity.

"This is wonderful for me. A lot was said about me going to Monaco, but I'm very glad I have made this move."

Olofinjana is also confident that his new team will not be dragged into another relegation scrap this time around.

He added: "Football for me is all about progress. I haven't just come here to make up the numbers, I'm here to play my part and help take this club to the next level.

"I don't feel as though I have joined a club that is going to struggle. I'm sure the club has moved on from what happened last season and lessons will have been learnt."
