Hull City have sent scans of injury-plagued midfielder Jimmy Bullard's latest knee injury to the surgeon who has treated him twice in his career, reports BBC Sport. Dr Richard Steadman operated on the 31-year-old former Wigan man in January when he damaged his other knee.
Tigers boss Phil Brown said: "It would be remiss of us not to involve an eminent surgeon such as Dr Steadman."
Bullard suffered his latest setback in a collision during the first half of City's 3-0 defeat at Aston Villa.
Brown added: "We have our own eminent surgeon who has read the scan. The most important thing is that Jimmy is happy with the diagnosis."
Steadman, who is based in Colorado, has twice operated on Bullard when he faced career-threatening injuries to his right knee.
