Hull's Brown - Inexperience cost us

Hull City manager Phil Brown admitted a lack of experience cost them the match against Wigan.

Ben Watson scored a late winner for the Latics at JJB Stadium which disappointed Brown and said his side needed to learn quickly.

"You can say it is cruel at the end of the day but our inexperience today is something we have to learn from," said Brown.

"There was a point - or three - to be had. First half we were disappointing in terms of the way we played. Second half we got to grips with the game and slowly but surely were coming into it.

"One or two injuries conspired against us but with a makeshift defence and a makeshift midfield we had one or two chances to win it. I'm disappointed with the manner in which we lost it."
