Hull's Altidore hoping for World Cup spot

Hull City striker Jozy Altidore understands that he needs to be holding down a regular first team spot if he is to be selected for USA's World Cup squad.

The promising 20-year old, who is on loan at KC Stadium from Spanish outfit Villarreal, harbours dreams of going to South Africa to be a part of this year's World Cup but knows he needs to let his club football do the talking first.

"You think about the World Cup, of course, it's always going to be in the back of your mind. But to play in the World Cup you have to make sure you're playing regular football," he told the Daily Star.

"No manager is going to put the stake of the country on someone who he feels is out of form.

"It's important that I give everything I can to Hull and hopefully the rest takes care of itself."
