Hull City pulled out of talks for West Brom defender Abdoulaye Meite yesterday.
The Daily Mail says the Tigers were on the look-out for a central defender after losing player of the year Michael Turner to Sunderland in a deal reported to be worth £6million.
Meanwhile the club have called off a move for West Brom's Meite.
Hull had been in the running to sign the defender, but the signing of Ibrahima Sonko from Stoke appears to have solved boss Phil Brown's defensive needs.
