Hull City have a deal for Sunderland striker Daryl Murphy, it has been revealed.

The People says Hull City boss Phil Brown swooped for Sunderland striker Murphy yesterday - as he was going through a medical with Roy Keane's Ipswich Town.

Brown came in for Republic of Ireland attacker Murphy, matched the Tractor Boys offer of around £1.2million and gave him the chance of staying in the Premier League on good wages.

That was enough to make Murphy change his mind and head for Humberside instead, with the move due to be completed today.
