Hull City midfielder Jake Livermore is hoping for a long run in this season's Europa League.
The Tigers make their European debut when they travel to Slovakia to take on Trencin in a third round qualifier on Thursday.
He said: "I think it's always great to travel around the world and play in different competitions, different types of games, because it can only benefit you as a player and as a squad.
"From a personal aspect, the Europa League has benefited me greatly. There's no doubt my own game came on a lot when I was at Spurs playing regularly in the tournament.
"You learn different ways on how to win a game, how to break teams down and how to defend against them.
"I am really looking forward to it because this is what football is all about - you want to be challenging in the best league and the big competitions because that's how you progress as a player."
