Hull midfielder Huddlestone: Cantona heroics inspired FA Cup dream

Hull City midfielder Tom Huddlestone says he loves the FA Cup - thanks to Manchester United legend Eric Cantona.

He was nine years old at the time but can vividly remember the French legend's winning goal for Manchester United against Liverpool.

Huddlestone, 27, decided then that he wanted some of that - the glory of an FA Cup Final triumph at Wembley.

He told the Daily Star Sunday: "When you are growing up, a lot of your first memories are FA Cup finals.

"Mine was the Man United-Liverpool Final in 1996, when Cantona scored the winner.

"That goal has stuck in my mind since my childhood. It would be unbelievable to have a Cantona moment and be involved in a final like that.

"But now I have that carrot - what an incentive it is going into this semi-final knowing victory means we'll be in the FA Cup Final.

"I've played at Wembley before but not in an FA Cup Final. The goal is to achieve that. We are United, so we are favourites to get there."
