Hull City No2 Brian Horton has revealed they expect to finalise a deal for Wigan Athletic midfielder Kevin Kilbane today.

Horton said: "He's had a medical and he will be in to further the situation on Thursday.

"We met him on Tuesday to discuss things before the FA Youth Cup game with Bolton."

Tigers boss Phil Brown added: "He's a 31-year-old with 90-plus internationals and he has been a credit to the game. He has played at the highest level. That kind of experience is priceless to us.

"Unfortunately, we have lost an experienced player in George Boateng and hopefully Kevin Kilbane will fill that void."
