Hull City are planning to work with Hull City Council on revised plans for a new training ground facility, reports BBC Sport. The Championship club had originally hoped to create an improved centre of excellence at nearby Melton but those plans have been shelved.
Head of football operations Adam Pearson told BBC Radio Humberside: "We want to work with the council to find a new training ground and academy.
"We need to change from centre of excellence status to academy." Pearson believes that the Tigers' current training ground, based in Cottingham, no longer meets the requirements of the football club.
"We need a pipeline of players coming through in decent surroundings," he added.
"The facilities at the minute are the ones I purchased when we were in the Third Division and aren't good enough."
