Hull City chairman Paul Duffen would welcome an amicable conclusion to the Cesc Fabregas spitting row, even as the Tigers prepare to supply evidence to the FA on Monday. Assistant manager Brian Horton has alleged that Arsenal midfielder Fabregas spat at him in the aftermath of Hull's 2-1 FA Cup quarter-final defeat at Emirates Stadium earlier in March.
Duffen, told Sky Sports News: "There is certainly no question that Hull City would rather focus on football matters.
"And if there was an accommodation between the football clubs, that would be an elegant way of moving forward.
"This is nothing to do with anything other than an incident which has been picked up and followed through by the regulatory authorities and we are, therefore, co-operating with that fully.
"If there could be an easier way of moving forward which was less of a drama then, of course, we would be happy with that."
And Duffen is confident that the FA will uncover exactly what happened.
"There's no question in my mind that Brian Horton, Phil Brown and the coaching staff and players saw something happen that evening," he added.
"I have absolutely no doubt something took place and I'm sure the inquiry will find out all those facts and details."
