Hull City are ready to spend big to land Arsenal striker Jay Simpson.
The Mirror says Hull City boss Nigel Pearson is set to sign Arsenal's speedy young striker Simpson in a stunning deal worth up to £1.2million.
Simpson starred for QPR and West Brom in loan spells as he waited for his first-team chance under Arsene Wenger and has now decided to make the big break.
The 21-year-old Londoner had the chance to go to Rangers in a permanent move but Hull have come up with a better package and will pay the big fee in installments as they try to find a way through their financial problems.
Simpson is expected to sign in time for the Championship kick-off this weekend and Hull hope to agree terms with him on top of the staged-payment deal with Arsenal for the fee.
