Hull keen for Villa keeper Guzan to extend loan period

Championship outfit Hull are hoping to hold talks with Aston Villa regarding a possible loan extension for American keeper Brad Guzan. The USA international has made nine appearances for the Tigers since joining on New Year's Day and his current loan expires this weekend.

The Tigers have yet to make a decision on keeping Guzan for a further month and are waiting to discuss the situation with Villa.

"At the moment we are being dictated to by Aston Villa," said assistant manager Craig Shakespeare in the Hull Daily Mail.

"He has really settled in well. The players and staff here have taken to his personality as well as his attributes as a player.

"There are nothing but plus signs next to his name as far as we're concerned.

"He's here until the end of the month but we'll have to wait and see beyond that.

"It's something we've spoken about briefly but he's Aston Villa's player and they may want him back. I'm sure there's scope for talk, though."
