Hull focus on local junior talent

Hull City are focusing on local talent to boost their academy teams.

The Hull Daily Mail says more emphasis will be placed on scouting local youngsters, with East Hull and the Holderness villages seen as areas which are not currently explored enough.

Having appointed Tony Pennock in a new role of academy and community manager, City boss Steve Bruce has handed him the task of ushering in a new era for the club's youth development system.

The 42-year-old has wasted little time getting down to business and has already sounded out leading youth team coaches from across the Hull Boys' Sunday League to unearth young players not already on City's radar.
