Hull City have been scared off by Everton's asking price for James Vaughan.
The Mirror says Tigers manager Nigel Pearson has dropped his bid for Vaughan - after being quoted up to £2million.
The Tigers had offered £1million plus add-ons for the striker, who will be sold by David Moyes.
However Everton supremo Bill Kenwright wants more and now Hull have walked away.
